March 2026 brought the largest monthly dollar loss in MPF history. The average member saw HK$21,326 leave their account in a single month, with total system losses reaching HK$102.2 billion. Quarterly statements have now been delivered, and many employees will be seeing those figures for the first time.

1. Where to find their statement

Not every employee will have opened their statement or registered on their trustee's digital portal. A simple reminder of where to check is still worthwhile.

2. The April recovery

April recovered every dollar March lost. The MPF posted its largest-ever monthly dollar gain in April, returning year-to-date to positive territory. That sequence is a useful illustration of why MPF is designed as a 30 to 40 year savings vehicle, not a short-term investment. Keep any communication factual.
